The Right Fit

I had the pleasure of working with a client recently, Natalie Webster, who wrote about the experience in the South Lake Neighbors magazine. And while she found our time together helpful and enlightening, I think her "Before" and "After" photos say it all! Here are Natalie's thoughts:

Have you ever felt like you have a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear? This is how I was feeling each time I stood in front of my closet trying to pick out an outfit for something that required me to leave the house.

As a freelance writer and Podcast Host I mainly work from home, except when I’m out doing something that I’m going to write about, or when I’m in the studio recording my podcast “Twila and Natalie” for Matriarch Digital Media.

Working from home means working in yoga pants and a t-shirt. My office staff consists of my Giant Schnauzer, Odin, who doesn’t judge what I wear, plus we both believe in a relaxed office environment.

The problem is there are many times when I have a meeting or an event where I need to dress like a grown-up. I’m not someone who has a natural ability to put outfits together, but I am someone who knows when it’s time to call a professional.

Carol Osnes is the CEO and Founder of Wardrobe ReImagined. She has thirty years of experience as a wardrobe and image consultant. Osnes works one-on- one with you to determine your best colors, your body type, along with determining your fashion personality. Most of all, she can show you how to get the most out of what you already own.

Recently Osnes came to my home to help me discover what it means to dress in a more polished manor. Right off the bat she corrected a misconception I’ve had my entire adult life, which was negatively affecting how I dressed.

I had always thought my body type was that of an apple. Turns out I have an hour-glass figure. I’ve spent years dressing like my body was an apple, which often made me look like an apple. This is evident in my before and after photos.

Osnes went through my closet piece by piece, helping me determine what actually fits my body type and coloring, and what does not. She also offers a service where she will shop at a store with you.

My biggest take away from the experience was that the biggest favor we can do ourselves is to learn how to dress for the body type we have and to know what colors best suit us. Even though we got rid of many items, I now feel as if I have a whole new wardrobe!
