Kitten Heels...The Purrfect Shoe!

I recently read an article that kitten heels were going to be "in" this season. And my first reaction was, "When did they ever go out of style?" Kitten heels are timeless and a very versatile shoe for a number of reasons.

1. They add needed height to a crop or shorter straight-leg pant. Unless you have the advantage of being taller than 5'7", crop pants will cut you off and make you appear shorter and possibly even heavier. To compensate, you need to add some heel height. Enter the kitten shoe to the rescue! Because the slim heel style complements the narrow line of the pant, it's an ideal choice...especially if you don't want to wear stilettos.

2. Right proportion for a longer skirt or dress. There's a definitive adage, "The higher the skirt, the higher the heel." And for the most part, that still holds true. A dress or skirt above the knee looks better proportionally with a higher heel. And a maxi looks good with flats. But somewhere in between (mid to low calf) looks out of balance with either option. But the kitten heel looks just right - not too high nor not too low.

3. Stylish yet incredibly comfortable. Even though they traditionally have a more pointed toe, kitten heel shoes are surprisingly comfortable. This is good news for women who need to look pulled together yet are on their feet for long periods of time. Or those who have foot issues as they get older and can't wear higher heels.

So now you know why kitten heels are "the cats' meow"!
